"Berry Sweet Baby" Themed Baby Shower
"Berry Sweet Baby" Themed Baby Shower
When I found out one of my dear friends was having her first baby, I basically begged to plan and throw her a baby shower! Luckily, she gladly accepted my offer and let me run with it! I gave her some different theme ideas and she loved the strawberry theme because it's so cute and absolutely perfect for a summer baby.
I found this perfect invitation on Etsy. She loved that it still showed the theme but that it wasn't too brightly colored and in your face. I also included instructions to send in a baby picture with each person's RSVP for one our games.
Now, my friend's baby was the first grandbaby on both her side and her husband's side! It was pretty safe to say that both grandma's were VERY excited for baby girl to join the family. We didn't do too many decorations, but my friend's mom found these super cute strawberry outfits to hang up. Everyone gave them the best reaction! I hung some balloons up on our stairs and set up a gift area. Nothing crazy, but balloons always make me feel like it's time to celebrate!
The food was such a delight to put together! I found all the strawberry themed foods and created this super yummy spread. There were strawberry chicken salad sandwiches, salmon cucumber bites, fruit salad, berry dessert parfait, strawberry lemonade, and the most incredible strawberry macarons. These macarons were made by a friend of my friend's mom. Holy cow! Absolutely adorable and super yummy!
Diaper cakes are my favorite baby shower center piece. I rolled up individual diapers and secured them with rubber bands. I then made two tiers of diapers and wrapped them in ribbon. I added the strawberry decorations and placed my diaper cake on top of my cake stand! Super easy and super cute. my friend got to keep the diapers at the end of the party.
For the most part, we let guests eat and chat with each other and our mom to be. After a little bit we broke out some simple baby shower games. We played "Mommy or Daddy" (I got answers from my friend and her husband beforehand so it would be easier to compare), "Who Knows Mommy Best?" (it was so fun realizing that most of us didn't know the answers to these random questions! Her mom crushed the game), and "Guess That Baby" (this is super fun with friends and strangers!).
I also created and included an "Advice and Encouragement" card for everyone to fill out. Once complete, each guest got their Polaroid picture taken twice, one to keep and one to tape to the card.
For party favors I tied twine around mini strawberry jams. We had to stay on theme and these turned out to be so cute!
It was a wonderful evening celebrating my dear friend and her baby girl!
