"Spiderman!" Birthday Party

Your friendly neighborhood Owen-Man turned 5! 

We absolutely ran with this super hero themed birthday party, creating a memorable day for everyone involved!

Another Canva pro trial invitation for the win! Also, Chat GPT really came in clutch and helped me come up with Spiderman themed words for the invite. All of it was totally on theme and made for the perfect hero invitation!

I got all of the decorations on Amazon and from Walmart. Check out my "Party Packages" page to get the links to all the things I bought to make this party happen!

In addition to the decorations that I bought, I already had a few things on hand. I used a regular red plastic table cloth and then covered it without our Halloween spider table cloth. It was perfect! Also, for the birthday banner, I quickly created that on Canva and then used white yarn to created the spiderweb on the wall. I thought about using black yarn so you could see it better, but I didn't want it to be too "Halloween-y". So we stuck with white, just like Spiderman.

I think it's so fun coming up with kid friendly party food while also tying it in to the birthday theme. I created these food tags on Canva (seriously the best place for simple party planning things!)

Gotta come up with some super fun games to keep all the 5 year old's entertained! We played:

Musical Webs: basically musical chairs but with printed webs on cardstock. I put one less than the amount of kids playing. They each had to do super cool Spiderman moves to each web and then when the Spiderman theme music stopped, they had to strike their best Spiderman pose. We went until the last kid was standing. I didn't do prizes, they just got bragging rights.

Wall Crawling: My husband set up a fun yarn obstacle race in our basement. The kids had to swing and crawl to the end of the course, grab the silly string, and bring it back. The silly string was used for the next activity.

Catch A Bad Guy Relay Race: My husband set up another amazing obstacle course in the backyard. The kids made their way throught the course to "fight the bad guys" at the end. I printed 3 different Spiderman villains onto cardstock and then taped them up on garbage cans. The kids got to catch/fight the villains by shooting silly string (Spiderman webs) at them.

Oh, and my son definitely dressed up as Spiderman for his party. We invited the other kids to dress up as well, it made it super fun!

I made his Spiderman themed cake....making the cake was easy! Using icing to do the spiderwebs on top....not so easy! They were definitely crooked, but I don't think any of the 5 year olds cared hahaha! 

My husband used his 3D printer to make the cake topper! It turned out absolutely incredible!!

We had everyone sign his birthday book and take a party favor before leaving. Everything turned out super great! We loved celebrating our friendly neighborhood Owen-man!!
