"Lego" Birthday Party
"Lego" Birthday Party
Everything is awesome when you're turning 6 and ask for a Lego party!
My son has loved Legos for a good two years now and always asks for a new set for his birthday or Christmas. Because of this love, we decided a Lego themed birthday party would be perfect for him! I was a little nervous trying to decide exactly how to accomplish the theme, but I think we figured it out!
I usually like to create my invitations using Canva, but I found this template on Etsy for a really good price. It was super easy to edit and send out to my son's friends!
My husband is just a big kid at heart and loves Legos just as much as my boys do. I gave him the task of creating a 6 out of Legos and he absolutely delivered! So creative and the perfect decoration for our table. We also used a bunch of my son's Lego creations as table decorations.
I used this quote from "The Lego Movie" for our party rules. I hung it up on the front door for everyone to see before they came in.
For the food I decided to use images and ideas from "The Lego Movie". I've found that easy finger foods make the best type of food for a kid's birthday party. The kids also had the chance to decorate their own yellow cups by adding a minifigure face.
We had fun playing different types of Lego games!
-Guess how many Legos are in the jar
-Find the Lego Minifigures around the house
-Race to cover the entire base plate
-Lego spoon race
-Build a Lego tower from the smallest piece to the biggest piece
I also included these cute Lego building ideas for the kids to work on just for fun. The kids had a great time! They were competitive, but also excited when other people won. So much fun!!
Look at our cute Lego cakes! I used bread tins to make the rectangle Legos and then a small square dish for the square Lego. To create the bumps I used a mini muffin tin! We discovered it was easier to frost the main cakes first and then add the bumps on top and finish frosting the whole cake.
For the party favors I ordered some mini Lego kits off of Amazon and put one plus a piece of candy in each red bag. I created the tags on Canva and stapled them to each bag. The kids were excited to get their own mini Lego set to take home and build!
We had the best time celebrating my son and becoming Master Builders!
